Ile Parisienne Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ)
The only structures on the island are those at the
lighthouse complex, at the southwestern corner, about 1 mile from the parcel for
sale. In that
complex there is the lighthouse itself (very pretty, two lighthouse keepers
houses, a helicopter pad, a small boat dock, and some small outbuildings. There
are no other structures -- towers, or anything else -- anywhere on the island.
The property for sale is in pristine condition.
There is absolutely no history of
flooding to the best of my knowledge. The land on the private parcel (and most
of the entire island) is well up from the lake level. How many feet above it I
cannot say, but there is no marsh or wetland of any sort on this private parcel.

There is no landing strip on the island now, although there is, on the property, a very large flat meadow that could (I reckon) be made into one. There is, at the lighthouse about one mile away, a helicopter landing pad.
Because the land is undeveloped, and without infrastructure (like much of rural Canada) the property taxes are virtually nil -- in 2003, $88.00.
